ears die Ohren
die Löffel (literally, spoons)
die Elefantenohren (I guess it’s self-evident what size they are)
die Segelohren (literally, sail-ears—I mean, why use a spinnaker when you have a set of ears like these)
Oddly, quite a few sayings in German involve ears. Here are just a couple:
Er hat was hinter den Ohren.
He is smart. /He has brains. (literally, He’s got something behind his ears)
But,
Du kriegst gleich was an die Ohren.
I’m going to slap you in the face. (literally, You’ll get something on your ears)
Also,
die Ohrfeige means “the slap in the face.”
Er liegt mir schon seit Tagen mit dieser Sache auf den Ohren.
He’s been nagging me about this thing for days. (literally, He’s been lying on my ears with this thing for days)
Ich hau mich aufs Ohr.
I’ll go to sleep. (literally, I’ll beat myself on the ear—try to understand that one)
